I have lived most of my life in England but come from a mixed background of Spanish and Egyptian parents. I grew up in a holiday hotspot on the island of Tenerife, as a result, I am fluently bilingual. I speak Spanish and English at a native level.

I enjoy working in a team, although I am also adept at working individually, as well as using my leadership skills in management roles. I am confident in carrying out tasks with efficiency, a positive demeanor, and using problem-solving skills to get the job done, and done excellently.

I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the pub and inn (3 bedrooms upstairs, 1 cottage to our side). This position allowed me to, refine my managerial skills and further my knowledge in the field.

Furthermore, the primary  (and secondary) responsibilities this position entailed included the following:

Host Staff and Hotel Management

  • I had a client-facing and leadership role, in which I was trusted to ensure all of our clients were happy with their stay at our beach hotel, which has had a very successful reputation over the years in terms of quality, entertainment, and comfort.
  • I attended to every customer who came forward with requests and made sure that the problem was resolved to the highest level of customer service. I enjoyed interacting with customers to make sure that their opinions and voices were heard.
  • My position also included managing the hotel and any incident that may occur during the absence of the hotel director. I ensured that every department was carrying out its work in a safe and efficient environment. During the hot summer months, employee care is just as important as customer care.
  • As a member of management and host staff, the position also required me to inspect the kitchen and food storage to ensure quality products were being used in our restaurant, beach, pool, and indoor bars.
  • I was also required to work as both a waiter and receptionist if there was a shorthand of employees or an increased number of guests during certain hours, which has developed my resilience and ability to work under pressure. This experience has allowed me to remain calm in the most stressful of situations and has taught me the value of control and organisation within a fast-paced work environment.
  • The daily responsibility of writing reports was up to me. This required expertise in Microsoft Office, hosting software, dealing with customer reviews, surveys, and feedback, and relaying this to the team. This also included calling customers and partners directly.

In my spare time and as a mini side job, I often gave tutoring classes online and in person to other university students who required it. Charging approximately £18 to £20 an hour at a student rate.
