About Angela Bowers:
Following a long successful career at Ladbrokes I am looking for new challenges, opportunities and better work life balance.
I am familiar with Microsoft packages, using word and outlook in my day-to-day life. I use word to collate information, and complete reports in work. I use outlook in maintaining communication with my area manager and colleagues. I also have basic knowledge of excel which I use occasionally to lay out information.
Compliance is of paramount importance in my current role I make well-judged decisions daily, I start by assessing the situation, determine what action if any needs to happen then, if necessary, seek relevant guidance. I would ensure both staff and customer safety were taken into consideration, then I would discuss my concerns with the customer ensuring a positive outcome.
When information is requested: I check immediately to find what is needed, I would then use the company dashboard to find out exactly what this issue or target is. I would identify any noncompliance / information that has been requested and respond via email or what’s app groups, ensuring all colleagues and area manager know what is expected.
To achieve targets I plan in advance, a gaming tournament run over 2 days for example: I would ensure both myself and staff read the briefers and get to know the game being promoted. I would plan staffing levels whilst keeping within the allocated daily hours allowed, identify customers that become target market, use the daily diary to inform staff of plan and target required. finally, I would check in throughout the day for updates on meeting outlined targets.
I have found throughout my career, that my effective communication skills, my approachable demeaner and my professional and impartial response to circumstances has meant people have responded to me and my direction well. This has formed relationships which are based on open and honest communication where all parties expect to be treated appropriately.
Throughout my career there has been massive changes within the industry, initially customers bet over the counter however online and self service have now become a major part of our day. I have embraced these changes, ensuring all my colleagues and myself are fully briefed and support the company objective. I set targets for my staff to introduce new online customers by promoting the offers and free bets available. This also benefits the staff who receive a bonus when they get a sign up. These changes have been brought in whilst still continuing to run a busy shop dealing with day-to-day duties, I ensure all staff learn the procedures necessary whilst ensuring our regular customer service is not impacted.
