Engineering / Architecture
About Dan Rymer Trenholme:
I am an architectural designer with a total of 15 years experience in the construction industry.
Since graduating from the University of Westminster with a Masters of Architecture, I have gained 8 invaluable years of real-world experience as an architectural designer and assistant working across various sectors, but specialising in retail and residential developments.
Studying at both the University of Greenwich and the University of Westminster, has enabled me to exercise varied methods of design and graphic representation.
I have developed the course of my professional career, both my creative and my organisational skills, gaining a comprehensive knowledge in CAD and BIM applications across both Mac iOS and Windows software.
During my time at Architecture PLB, I worked on a variety of projects - primarily in education, retail sectors and competitions. I then left APLB to complete my MArch at the University of Westminster where I focused on randomisation and chance using the I-Ching Book of Changes as a method of designing a building.
Whilst at Robert Young Associates I again primarily worked on retail and residential projects. My main focus was producing planning information and liaising with various planning authorities to work towards gaining planning approval for several residential and retail projects.
In September 2020, during the latter part of working for RYA, I started my own freelance architectural design company. Most of the projects involved working on small residential renovations and adaptations, predominantly domestic loft conversions and extensions.
I joined LAB Architects in 2023 and during my time there I worked as a part II architectural assistant on several high end residential projects, two of which were grade II listed properties.
I have since returned to freelancing providing architectural services to homeowners.
As well as practising as a freelancer in architecture, I also make artwork in various mediums such as lino tile ink block printing and screen printing. I also enjoy hand drawing, sketching and playing music.
