About Jason Buttle:

I am a focused individual who will apply himself to any task and am seeking new challenges to apply my skills to within the work place.

I consider myself to be a hardworking, dedicated individual and believe this shows in the positive reaction and comments I receive from not only my co-workers but also the inmates I care for within the prison.

I feel that both sides of my working environment trust me to listen to, and if possible, help to advise and solve their concerns and issues to keep disruption within my units to a minimum.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, arranging day trips and holidays with my wife and our son.

Experience

I am currently employed as a Supervising Officer at HMP Hull overseeing 2 residential units, equating to around 268 prisoners, supervising the 8 – 10 staff tasked with day-to-day management of the regime.

• Liaising with partner agencies such as Probation, Healthcare and Mental Health care team to manage safety systems and ensure desired outcomes

• Using in house computer systems to help ensure wings are run safely, effectively and to set timescales

Over time my role has also encompassed the following elements;

• Bronze Commander – as bronze commander it is my duty to manage incidents on the wing ranging from disciplinary issue to violence or self-harm

• Pathfinders Unit – working with pathfinders Counter Terrorism Unit to share intel with Police force on terrorism within jails

• MAPPA – attending meeting and conducting reports for MAPPA, Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement, for offenders of specific crimes

• Parole – Assisting with parole paperwork

• Riot Team – Trained and took part in Tornado Riot Team programme

• Immigration – Issuing, creating and submitting paperwork for OMU, Offender Management Unit, alongside Immigration Team with cases of deportation
