I am a mature employee with many years experience in both office and school environments. The office jobs have varied, ranging from Legal secretary/ receptionist to clerical / admin for Suffolk County Council.
I love meeting new people and being able to help solve their problems. I feel that I am a very sympathetic and caring person.
Experience
I have been employed at Britannia Primary School as the Play Leader Manager for almost 2 years. In this role, I am responsible for 25 Play Leaders during Lunchtimes providing supervision for approximately 600 children. I am also responsible for the budget for this department.
Prior to that I took time out to care for my late father as his health was deteriorating.
Between 2007 and 2015 I worked at Bucklesham Primary School as a Teaching assistant providing close support for children requiring extra help.
Between 1990 and 2006, I worked for Suffolk County Council. I was an admin assistant, regularly being the first point of contact for people visiting the Council buildings, while still providing typing / word processing support to staff. I used a wide range of office equipment including scanners , printers and copiers. I also used a wide variety of Microsoft applications.
From 1986 to 1990, I was employed as a Legal secretary at Josselyn & Sons Solicitors. I was required to produce various legal documents such as Conveyances, Local Searches, Preliminary Enquiries, Epitomes, Schedule of Title Deeds etc. for the Conveyancing department and provided cover and audio typing support for the Probate department in typing Wills and Codicils. I also provided admin support for the Solicitors to include updating diaries, preparing meetings and ensuring required information present for the scheduled appointments. I also created dossiers for new clients. On occasions, attended Magistrate’s Court and transcribed notes of cases in shorthand, to be typed up later for the Litigation Department.
Education
I attended Wanstead High School between 1978 –1983 and attained CSE’s in English, Biology, Geography, Social Studies, and Art. I also gained RSA I in Typewriting and RSA I and II in Communication in Business.
I have also attended Suffolk College and achieved the following
RSA I and II in Audio Typewriting and Shorthand Transcription
RSA I, II, and III in Typewriting and Word Processing with Distinction at Suffolk College.
Successfully passed 7 modules in an IT Foundation Course through Suffolk County Council (ECDL). This covered: - Using the Computer and Managing Files; Word Processing; Excel; Access; PowerPoint; Internet and E-mailing.
• Microsoft Office Applications course at Bentek Training.
