My academic and professional studies journey through India, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom exposed me to new cultures, customs, communities, and places, all of which taught me how to easily mingle with multinational personnel and adapt to changing circumstances.
Furthermore, I began my career as an Interim QS in one of the top ranked consultancy Dar al-handasah to serve in a prestigious project of Kuwait University in Kuwait. There, I obtained the Project IN & OUTS, as well as the significance and role of the QS in the Projects. Furthermore, I come across the handling procedures of several Control Forms, the priority of the Contract Documents, the roles of the respective stake holders, the interdependency of Quality vs Quantity and Time vs Cost, all of which play an important role in the success or failure of the projects.
As a result of overseeing the prestigious Residential Villas construction as Assistant QS, I learned how to keep Project Records in a timely and organized manner, as well as Quantity take-offs and MIS Reports. Corelating ongoing activities with approved submittals and calculating their corresponding costs to recommend payments, etc. in all aspects assisting Management in maintaining accurate financial records as needed. During these times, I gained practical experience dealing with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, authorities, and so on.
Throughout the preceding time periods, I improved my written and oral communication skills in order to successfully express my ideas. The actual knowledge from the live projects opens up my eyes to gain awareness about any item visually and reach the route level to easily understand, which strengthens me to confidently discuss different elements of the Projects to the best of my known knowledge.
