About Tom Bateman:
Studied Sport and Exercise Science at Runshaw College. Achieved the best possible grade of D*D*D*. Continued with Sport and Exercise Science at Edge Hill University and achieved a 2.1 in my degree. From a young age, I developed a passion for Sport which has continued to grow and develop into a desire to work in the field of Sport and support athlete progression.
Experience
Nov 2022-April 2023│ Work Placement- SportsCool
- During Sports camps, I was able to set up and supervise various games.
- During SportsCool I worked with kids aged 4-11 showcasing my ability to work with a younger demographic.
Oct 2018│ Work Placement- St Matthews CE Primary School
- In class, I was able to communicate with the children to help them understand the tasks they were set. Also supporting them with work they found difficult.
- During P.E lessons I would set up the sessions and get the needed equipment ready, further developing my organisation skills.
- I completed all my assignments three weeks prior to finishing my first college year and was able to leave early. I decided to use these three weeks to return to St Matthews to further develop my teaching skills.

- I executed tasks diligently, recognizing the critical impact of my performance on the overall kitchen and front-of-house operations, ensuring seamless and efficient service for all sectors.
- Effective communication to provide equipment when urgently needed.
- On busy occasions I was asked to help the chefs with food preparation.
Oct 2017│ Work Placement- Bolton Wanderers Community Trust
- Demonstrated exceptional communication, empathy, and patience while conducting P.E lessons in schools, including invaluable experience in a special needs school setting.
- Effectively organized and supervised an engaging over-50s activity class, showcasing my strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate various games and sports, including badminton, to create an inclusive experience for participants.
- Enriched my communication skills by successfully engaging with an older population group through the over-50s class, fostering valuable interactions that broadened my experiences beyond my usual demographic interactions.
