Description
Join our Team as a Procurement Contract and Supplier Manager at the University of Cambridge
Are you passionate about Contract & Supplier Management in Procurement? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can drive excellence in Contract and Supplier performance? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to become a key player in our Procurement Governance team
The Procurement Services team at the University of Cambridge has undergone an exciting change over the last 2 years, expanding the team and progressing the way we work with our suppliers and internal customers. You will join our team of procurement professionals as we look for a highly skilled Contract & Supplier Manager to drive excellence within our contract management and procurement processes. As a member of the Procurement Governance Team at the University of Cambridge, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring contract performance with key suppliers.
The Role
As the Contract & Supplier Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of business-critical contracts across the organisation, with individual contracts ranging in value from £5m - £20m+. You will strategically manage relationships with key suppliers, review Terms and Conditions, manage Key Performance Indicators/Service Level Agreements, advise on best practice, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Overall, you will ensure that the University gets the best value out of its contracts.
Your Skills
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a complex procurement environment ideally in both the public and private sectors. With experience in bespoke forms of contract, you will be able to demonstrate good commercial awareness and understanding of contract law and related procurement legislation. Excellent supplier negotiation and communication skills are essential as well as a proven track-record of successfully delivering complex procurement projects.
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject is preferred with MCIPS desirable.
Benefits
The University offers an excellent benefit package including:
Location
The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment, a security check and a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The closing date for applications is Friday 14th June 24. The interview dates for the role are planned for Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th June 24.
The University actively supports equality, diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.
The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
