Job Details
Applications are invited for highly motivated individuals to join our department. To be considered for this post, applicants must have successfully completed higher surgical training and be on the speciality register or be within six months of their expected date of CCT. Applicants must have completed a fellowship in orthopaedic oncology. A proven record of academic attainment is expected. The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital has a close association with the University of Birmingham and has a considerable undergraduate and postgraduate teaching commitment. Applicants must be able to demonstrate not only clinical ability but also a sound understanding of clinical governance, a commitment towards teaching and an understanding of how the Trust's values will be applied to their clinical and non-clinical practice.Main duties of the job
This is a new 12 month locum post to support service delivery, planned retirements and to recognise increased workload and complexity.
The post holder will initially have a 10 PA job plan consisting of a mix of Orthopaedic Oncology and arthroplasty with the opportunity to pursue leadership, research or teaching interests. The appointee will be expected to undertake and deliver quality improvement work as part of their SPA allocation. The post includes providing an on-call and clinical commitment at Birmingham Childrens Hospital.
