    Title: Process Development Innovator Location: Trafford Park, Manchester Salary: Based on experience + Share Options + 7.5% Employer Pension + Income Protection + More Holiferm is facilitating the transition of the $42 billion surfactant market away from harmful, fossil fuel-based chemicals to biodegradable, sustainable biosurfactants. We are spearheading research and production into this innovative technology and, as such, are offering the opportunity to make an impact towards a more sustainable future. Our patented fermentation process with integrated gravity separation technology enables us to produce competitively priced biosurfactants at a commercial scale. At Holiferm, you will have the platform to broaden your skills by working with field leaders within a dynamic, collaborative and inclusive working environment. Whether you are based in our research and development laboratory in Manchester or our commercial plant in Wallasey, you will have the freedom and autonomy to drive innovation and change. Holiferm is focussing on reducing production costs in manufacturing and developing processes to produce the next molecules in the pipeline as cost effectively as petrochemicals. The successful candidate will form part of a team doing whatever it takes to develop processes to produce products which can displace petrochemicals from the market. Role Responsibilities As a Process Development Innovator, your responsibilities will be: Highly varied and determined from time to time as part of the project team. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys a varied work environment and a focus on maximising the impact of what they do and attempting things they have never done before. To take a bigger picture perspective, assimilate knowledge and calculate to understand the most important priorities, alongside being prepared to get hands-dirty developing Role Requirements: The successful Process Development Innovator will have:

    • a "Can do" and "positive" attitude- the candidate will be attempting things most believe to be impossible
    • The Ability to zoom out and calculate the impact at a high level.
    • The Ability to apply existing skills to new scenarios.
    • The Ability to communicate with others effectively to apply their expertise to a problem. Application: To apply for this role, we are doing things a little differently. We would like you to complete the following task as part of your application. Task: Consider scoping a production plant to produce vehicle fuels on the Moon in 2055 and make a recommendation as to whether to invest. State all assumptions and researched information (with references, hyperlinks are fine) and show all calculations and working. Comment on how you would progress to make the proposal more certain if you were to go ahead. This is intended to test your ability to think through a problem from a high-level perspective, to make sensible assumptions and calculations and to link a problem to a business case. Communication will also be assessed, but not how the information is presented visually or for spelling and grammar. Feel free to make use of any resources (including help from others) which would help you with this assessment, there are no tools which we consider to be 'cheating'. We would expect you to spend around 2 hours on this and provide a high-level summary only- there is no strict time limit but please take this into account.
