Rushcliffe Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated individual to join the Environmental Health Service in an apprentice role.
Apprentice Regulatory Compliance Officer - The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to embark on a new and interesting career in this varied and fascinating area. You will be required to undertake the Regulatory Compliance Officer (RCO) apprenticeship training. The completion of the qualification will provide you with the necessary skills to undertake a wide variety of work within Environmental Health which could range from investigating complaints, inspecting and advising businesses.
You will be required to travel across the borough of Rushcliffe and access to a vehicle is required. When necessary working arrangements could involve some weekend, early morning or evening working
Apprentice Regulatory Compliance Officer - Key Responsibilities:
To enforce Environmental Health and Licensing legislation via a variety of methods including inspections, projects and targeted advice/education
Conduct basic investigations
Producing written reports and attending court as necessary
Assist with inspecting housing within the Borough
Participate in training/ promotional work carried out by the service
To develop knowledge in legal processes and procedures and areas of legislation appropriate to the role
Develop and maintain effective collaborative working with other agencies
Prepare letters, notices and reports in respect of work carried out within the team
Carry out other such duties as may be required from time to time within the scope of the post and/or as delegated by the Service Manager
To attend training, completing the required course-work and passing the relevant assessments leading to the successful attainment of the portfolio-based element of the Apprenticeship
Apprentice Regulatory Compliance Officer - You:
GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 4 and above) Essential
- GCSE or equivalent Other (Grade 4) Essential
Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Presentation skills, Administrative skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Initiative, Non-judgemental, Patience
