The Treasury Services business with BNY Mellon services the payments, cash management and trade financing needs of our clients in the US and internationally, assisting them in their efforts to optimize cash flow, ensure adequate liquidity and manager risk – all essential components to their success.
The successful candidate will join the Treasury Services' Trade Finance and Portfolio Management team as a Trade Finance Solutions Structurer.
This is a critical senior role tasked with the development and execution of high-impact strategies to better position Trade Finance across key customer segments.
The individual will be working with corporate and banking coverage and relationship teams and their respective clients and prospects and will be responsible for structuring, negotiating and executing and distributing trade finance transactions, working closely with clients to understand their working capital and trade finance objectives, identify opportunities and recommend appropriate structures.
While the structuring focus of the business is on Supply Chain Finance (Receivables & Payables Finance) transactions, the structurer will also be responsible for Core Trade Products (Letters of Credit, SBLCs), Trade Loans and distribution as well as exporter marketing involving our global network.
The role can be based either in Frankfurt, Manchester, London, or Dubai.Be the senior trade structurer on a portfolio of key customers and prospects, expected to grow the trade wallet and revenue in that portfolio
Work closely with the sales and relationship management teams to recommend structures for solutions to enhance our clients' working capital and trade finance needs
Support and participate in pitching, structuring and execution of a transaction as well as prepare and review data analysis
Assist with product management and strategy related tasks including product build-out across the Treasury Services
Assist with all aspects of deal execution, including previewing with internal partners, preparing credit analysis and approval materials, conducting approval discussions, and negotiating legal documentation
Monitor and understand customer needs, regulatory environment, market, macro-economic trends as well as business opportunities
Partner closely with credit, finance, product, legal and risk functional colleagues to ensure solution delivery is seamless and structures can be adapted to meet bespoke customer needs
Embed quality in client touchpoints including proposals and presentations
Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation, its clients and assets
5 to 10 years of relevant trade finance/transaction banking experience
~ Strong working knowledge of corporate finance, corporate credit, cross-border and legal risk
~ Commanding a high degree of credibility with the client management and sales teams, as well as credit and legal risk teams
