Job Title: Team Leader
Location: Lawn Lane Supported Living Service, Hemel Hempstead
Starting Salary: £32,076 with the opportunity to progress to £34834 pa
Hours: 37
Contract: Permanent
Diversity: We are an inclusive employer and value a diverse workforce
Are you an enthusiastic leader with the ability to oversee the day to day running of a supported living service that offers support to adults with a learning disability? Are you someone who thrives on supporting people with activities that promotes independence and self-advocacy? If so, we would love to hear from you.
As a Team Leader, you will oversee the work of the team and ensure they deliver high quality support to nineteen individuals. You will work in partnership with other professionals and coach and mentor your colleagues. You will be supporting the manager to formally supervise staff, assist with compiling the rota, support with training, health and safety and sickness management so experience in this area is essential.
As a Team Leader you will promote good practice and provide formal supervision in line with the Performance Management and Development to nominated junior staff. Give day to day guidance to junior staff – assuming the role of 'shift leader' or 'shift coordinator.'
You will also participate in improving the quality of service experienced by the people we support, through developing, implementing, and reviewing individual support plans in conjunction with People we support.
The people we support live in and remain in their own home until they develop skills to move into more independent living. You will therefore need to work in partnership with a range of professionals – GPs, health support services such as physiotherapist, nurses and speech and language therapists as well as with the people we support and their families. You will have to have excellent communication, relationship, and people skills.
No two days are the same and you must be able to problem solve and multitask in a challenging environment.
You will also lead the team to ensure compliance with local and national quality standards and record and evidence this information.
As a Team Leader you will work flexibly within our service and must be able to undertake shift work, including weekends and bank holidays and possible sleep-in duties.
