Basic Requirements:


  • IAT Level 2 or equivalent education is essential
  • Personal Licence advantageous
  • Happy to work towards IAT Level
  • Capable to provide training support to researchers and junior staff
  • Experience of working in an laboratory environment
  • Previous experience in performing regulated procedures
  • IT skills such as Word and Excel
  • Organise your own workload and take initiative
  • Assist trainee technicians with their day to day work

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for allocated stages of regulated and nonregulated procedures under ASPA
  • After training, undertake simple nonregulated and regulated procedures and techniques, including schedule
  • Entering data and maintain database in accordance with the Home Office codes of practice and run appropriate reports
  • Process samples and record results in a clear and professional manner
  • Advise on the use of equipment to both colleagues and researchers
  • Keep all equipment sterile and clean
  • Assist in the running of the facility which includes monitoring and ordering of consumables
  • Collect results and communicate them to appropriate staff both verbally and written
  • Following SOP's and Health and Safety procedures.
