- Perform planned preventative maintenance on mechanical services, including heating, cooling, and air handling systems, as well as hot and cold water systems; record and report all defects
- Conduct reactive maintenance and repairs on various building services plants; record and report defects.
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota for maintenance emergencies.
- Develop personal knowledge of installed mechanical building services, with regular plant room visits.
- Provide guidance on site installations to other trade staff and contractors; undertake minor mechanical and plumbing installations.
- Prepare for engineering statutory inspections; ensure safe working practices, compliance with risk assessments, and safety standards.
- Craft apprenticeship with City & Guilds or BTEC National Certificate/Diploma, or an advanced modern apprenticeship (NVQ L2 with key skills) in mechanical or plumbing or equivalent qualification.
- Proven post apprenticeship experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical building services including low pressure heating systems, mechanical ventilation systems, hot and cold water systems and associated distribution equipment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing installations in buildings
- Able to carry out duties in a safe way with working knowledge of health and safety issues and understanding of risk assessments.
- Ability to cope with a steady volume of work using initiative in an organized manner.
- Full and current UK driving license.
