Apprentice Science Technician OASIS COMMUNITY LEARNINGYou will have the opportunity to work and be trained by an experienced senior technician in a friendly and supportive department.
You will gain the experience and skills to support the teaching of practical science in chemistry, biology and physics.Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
Monday - Friday, 8.00pm (term time only)Level 3 (A level)
We teach all three sciences at KS3, GCSE and A-level and aim for all our students to experience regular practical work and exciting demonstrations
You will have the opportunity to trial all our experiments, learn how to prepare them and how to support teachers in delivering them effectively.
Support our senior technician in trialling and preparing practical work for all year groupsSupport in the management of teacher's weekly practical "requisitions"
Support in the management of scientific equipment, prep room and stores
The training you will be getting
Through the training provider, CSR Scientific Training, you will undertake a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship which will include:
Fully recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 3 Laboratory Technician
On-the-job competency training
Theoretical knowledge - BTEC Level 3 Applied Science
The majority of your learning will be completed online once a week with some face-to-face practical sessions/exams in Sutton Coldfield.
Upon successful completion, you can apply for professional registration as a Registered Science Technician, RSciTech, with either the Royal Society of Chemistry or Royal Society of Biology.
Upon successful completion, you could become a science laboratory technician in school or industryDesired skills and personal qualities
