    Lighthouse Games is a new AAA studio in Leamington Spa. We are defined by our pedigree of talent, and serious ambition to build a new best-in-class game.     As our Lead VFX Artist, you will be responsible for driving the quality and immersion of all the VFX in the game. As we aim to create memorable experiences for our players we're looking for people with an eye for detail and a passion for making the work feel alive and elements connected together through their VFX. You will define the quality benchmark and work as part of a team where everyone mentors and supports each other, a place where everyone can excel.
    You won't be alone in your role; you will benefit from close collaboration with other disciplines, working together to ensure that as a 'team' we support each other in all aspects of what we create. You will work with the Art Director, Technical Artists and graphics developers to ensure efficient pipelines and processes are in place that allow you and your team to achieve the highest quality. You will be involved in all aspects of planning and budgeting.
    The role will see you mostly working in Unreal 5, with a variety of other software being used to help support the authoring processes. As a New Studio, there are excellent opportunities for both personal and professional growth, as we continue to establish ourselves in the gaming industry, you will be part of shaping this exciting story
    Requirements
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Shipped one or more games as a Senior or Lead Vfx Artist
    • Have proven collaborative skills, you understand people
    • An excellent portfolio with recent examples of VFX Art
    • Strong understanding of what makes for successful VFX, (Timing/Form/etc...)
    • Good Proficiency with Standard Content authoring tools used in games
    • Proven abilities in producing optimized VFX content for games
    Desirable
    • Experience of working in Unreal Game Engine
    • Experience with Niagara
    • Experience of tools such as Houdini/EmberGen
    • Experience in authoring shaders for VFX, either HLSL or Node based (UE4/5)
