    Description

    Are you an engaging and assertive HSE professional with the ability to build relationships at project level? A market-leading Contractor are looking for you to join their operations across the UK on prestigious Energy schemes, as Lead HSEQ Manager.

    Due to the nature of the hazards, you will have experience in major civil engineering, working across power ideally. The role will involve national travel as required.
    Providing strategic support on all HSE issues at client level, whilst retaining strong operational presence on a diverse construction project portfolio, you will also be:

    • Responsible for the provision of arrangements for competent advice and support, ensuring effective assurance is in place, internal and client requirements are met
    • Driving the behavioural safety culture throughout the business
    • Taking a lead on investigations, providing direction and guidance to investigators in the team and being responsible for approvals and liaison with client
    • Providing challenge and focus on continuous improvements whilst ensuring alignment with HSQE strategy and procedures
    • Managing and mentoring the team and providing support across the business with people and process
    • Taking an active role in developing, maintaining and promoting a positive HSQE culture, promoting ownership within operational teams
    • Supporting tenders and PQQs You must be a strategic thinker with the ability to develop the client relationships whilst placing continuous HSE improvement at the forefront across multi-faceted sites.

    Key qualifications and experience include:

    • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
    • IOSH Membership Grad - Chartered (or equivalent)
    • IEMA Practitioner member or above (or equivalent).
    • Working understanding of working methods and HSEQ management systems
    • Experience of carrying out safety investigations, improving behavioural safety and supply chain management.
    • Experience of HSQE at a managerial level, meeting Client and internal reporting and other requirements
    • Experienced in diverse and challenging construction projects, preferably civil engineering and energy schemes
    • Accomplished at both strategic and operational level
    • Knowledgeable at managing Environmental impact on-site (highly desirable) You will be responsible for the provision of arrangements for competent advice and support, ensuring effective assurance is in place, internal and client requirements are met and safe behaviours are promoted.
