Reporting to the Director of Financial Control, in this senior role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Financial Accounting for SCC plc.

You will be developing, monitoring and improving the accounting processes and controls, working closelywith the SCC EMEA Group Accounting and Compliance Manager to enhance Risk Assurance activities.


You and your team will support the preparation of Statutory Accounts and manage the Year End audit and will be responsible for Investment Appraisals, Fixed Asset accounting and reporting as well as providing strong technical accounting leadership to theSCC Finance team.


Key Responsibilities:


Corporate Governance and Financial Control

  • Ensure best practice for documentation of accounting processes and controls within SCC
  • Maintain and develop SCC's Risk Control Framework
  • Provide technical expertise on all financial accounting matters, providing updates to the SCC EMEA Group Accounting manual as required
  • Enhancing reporting requirements to improve transparency around all areas of compliance activity
  • Responsible for controlling and reconciling all intercompany accounts
  • Ensuring seamless production of the Statutory Accounts through strong accounting controls and robust account mapping into the consolidation system (Cognos Controller)
  • Ensuring that all external financial reporting requirements are met

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Responsible for Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting, Working Capital reporting, including monthly submissions to the SCC EMEA Group team
  • Responsible for foreign exchange risk management, hedging and marktomarket accounting
  • Fixed Asset accounting and reporting and Capex forecasting
  • Projects
  • Managing all accounting and reporting projects for the Financial Accounting team
  • Administration and control of Capex business cases and project appraisals
  • Controlling and reporting of all financing arrangements, including bank facilities and trade agreements with financing partners
  • Supporting the continual development of SCC's financial reporting systems

Key skills/experiences:


  • Qualified accountant (preferably ACA) with strong technical skills appropriate to an acquisitive group
  • Experience in managing a financial accounting team in a large corporate environment
  • Experienced in driverbased Balance Sheet forecasting models
  • Excellent communication & reporting skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at Director level
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to manage key stakeholders and an experienced and diverse team
  • Willingness to get into detail to provide management reporting/insight
  • Sound decision making skills and rational judgements based on relevant information
  • Attention to detail. Adherence to reporting standards and formats delivering high quality professional output
  • Commercial outlook with a demonstrable approach to adding value to the business
  • Flexibility easily adapting to change in a fastmoving leading edge IT company
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines
