    Job summary

    We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible Theatre Practitioners to join our Theatre Recovery Team based at Ormskirk with ad-hoc cross site working at Southport Hospital.

    If you are keen to add to your existing theatre knowledge and are committed to developing and enhancing the quality of care provided in the Operating Theatre environment, then this is the opportunity for you.

    Main duties of the job

    In return we will offer you the opportunity to broaden your existing knowledge of perioperative practice and develop your management skills in a supportive and friendly environment.

    As part of our commitment to student ODP's and Nurses, the post holder will be expected to participate in the orientation, supervision and training of junior staff and students. A mentorship qualification is desirable.

    This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for Adults and Children's disclosure).

    The Secretary of State has approved the partnership between St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals and Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.

    From 1st July we have come together as a single organisation under the name Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

    The Trust delivers acute hospital care, intermediate care, community, and primary care services to a population of over 600,000 people with a combined workforce of around 9000 dedicated and skilled staff from 17 locations including Whiston, Southport & Formby, St Helens, Ormskirk and Newton hospitals.

    The Trust provides regional services for burns, plastic surgery and spinal injuries to more than 4 million people across Mersey and West Lancashire, Cheshire, the Isle of Man and North Wales.
