£30,206 - £33,228 per annum

Centrepoint, the UK's leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for qualified and experienced Housing Officer to join our Independent Living Programme team based in London.

We support young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently.

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment.

We want to end youth homelessness by 2037_._

Together with our partners, we support over 14,000 young people each year.


Centrepoint's Independent Living Programme provides quality, affordable, time bound housing solutions to young people engaged in fulltime work or apprenticeships, across London and Manchester.


About you

  • Qualified Housing Officer (CIH or equivalent)
  • Experienced in providing dynamic housing management services, including rental income and arrears control procedures
  • Excellent all round knowledge of tenancy management
  • Compassionate, reactive and customerfocussed
  • Selfmotivated and able to manage workload and priorities effectively
  • Confident communicator with the natural ability to facilitate open and impactful conversations.
  • Able to build strong positive relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on the customers we serve
  • Flexible, always adapting to changing needs of Centrepoint's Independent Living customer base

What you'll be doing

  • Tenancy management of an agreed patch across a number of London boroughs
  • Effective rental income management and prompt arrears prevention work
  • Supporting customers by reporting repairs efficiently
  • Carrying out timely property inspections
  • Managing the tenancy journey from sign up to move on
  • Overseeing legal expectations such as tenancy breaches
  • Developing positive relationships with customers
  • Working with customers to move onto their forever homes
