- Work with scientific staff to collect requirements, understand workflows, develop their requirements and review prototype systems
- Work in teams to develop and/or implement data handling and data analysis systems
- Develop code and data structures for integrating and visualizing data from various scientific and laboratory sources into databases and related data management systems
- Support and extend existing data management and data visualization pipelines, code, and databases
- Work flexible hours (evening) when needed to collaborate with a team located on the West coast of the United States.
- A background in a Biological Science and familiarity with Protein Sciences
- Good experience in Java and JavaScript development
- Previous industry experience within a Bioinformatics role
- Experience with SQL and relational database
- BSc (or equivalent) in a Biological or Bioinformatics discipline
- Familiarity with the LabKey system
- Experience with web UI frameworks
- Experience with Python or R
- Experience with PostgreSQL

The role :
Our client is an international leader in small molecule drug discovery and development. Working in a range of therapeutics areas they utilise their extensive experience to drive new innovative small molecule compounds into the clinic.
An opportunity is available within the Research Informatics team for an experienced Bioinformatics Scientist to work closely with Biologists, scientific developers and data scientists to provide data management and analytical systems for the Biology teams.
