    Job summary

    In this role you will have responsibility for:

    Working in conjunction with the Health Safety andWellbeing Manager to develop a strategy for the most efficient and effectivedelivery of an occupational health and wellbeing service, ensuring plans arecoordinated and that best practice methods are being used to develop proactiveways of improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff.

    Supporting and promoting a strong and positiveemployee health and wellbeing culture in line with organisational and nationalstrategies and policies, by guiding and advising the organisation on issueswhich are linked to the employee health and wellbeing agenda on a national andlocal level. Ensuring the service is proactive and continuously improves in itsdelivery and performance as integral part of the HR service.

    Operationally managing a multi-disciplinaryemployee health and wellbeing service, by monitoring, auditing, and evaluatingall occupational health practices and interventions being carried out withinthe team and develop opportunities for improvement.

    Ensuring effective client case management ofsickness absence and fitness to work referrals, ensuring these are undertakenin a timely and proactive manner, to assist the organisation in a key corporatepriority in relation to attendance management in line with the Councilspolicies and procedures.

    Main duties of the job

    Reviewing service procedures and processes and implement changes as necessary, including producing records, statistics, and other information on a regular basis to demonstrate the contribution of the service to the organisation.

    Writing reports and present at meeting forums,specific information to enable the organisation to make informed decisionslinked to occupational health and wellbeing.

    Providing professional guidance on the developmentof Human Resource policies, strategies and procedures to meet Councilobjectives and agendas that link to occupational health and wellbeing andpeople management issues; working flexibly across the HR Service on HR issuesand projects to meet priority needs.

    Promoting and assisting with the development of andcompliance with the Councils equality, diversity, fairness and inclusionpolicies and plans.

    Representing Human Resources and the Council asappropriate at local and regional meetings, to ensure effective development ofoccupational health strategies and interventions, as well as inputting intooccupational safety initiatives and legislative requirements.

    Discharging all duties in a professional manner.
