- Providing general and specialist Planning/Highways legal advice to the in-house service including planning applications, appeals, enforcement, public rights of ways and village greens
- Drafting of documentation including s106 planning agreements/undertakings, planning appeal statements, s38 and s278 highways agreements, licences and easements for highways works, notices, traffic regulation orders and stopping up applications
- Representation at Planning Committees
- Advising on law, policy, strategy, statutory requirements and procedure relating to Planning/Highways issues
- Hold a relevant degree and be a qualified CILEX, Solicitor or Barrister, licensed to practice.
- Effectively and appropriately provide and communicate legal advice commensurate to experience to Members, Officers and other stakeholders generally and at committee meetings.

What will you be doing?
We are looking for a Lawyer specialising in Planning/Highways to join our in-house legal team. The role will require you to undertake a caseload of work including:
It is desirable, but not essential, that you have local government experience, however, training and support would be offered as part of your continuous professional development.
