JOB TITLE:
RECEPTIONIST/ADMIN ASSISTANT


REPORTING TO:
Lead Administrator/Home Manager


JOB PURPOSE:
To welcome visitors to the Residential Care Home and to handle telephone calls, in a friendly and efficient manner. To direct visitors and telephone calls to the correct location. To assist the Administrator as and when required. To upload daily paperwork to our central drive. Filing and general office duties as required.

Required:

  • Good numerical and word processing skills
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Friendly, confident and well presented
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Genuine interest in working in a caring environment
  • An ability to be able to interact with residents in the Home
  • Satisfactory DBS and Right to Work Check
  • Proven ability in dealing with the general public
  • Team player
  • Ability to work on own initiative

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reception
Welcome all Visitors to the Care Centre courteously, determine the reason for their visit and check their identity. Notify appropriate Staff Member regarding Visitors arrival.

Answer the telephone and respond to all enquiries at Reception. Re-direct enquiries in a friendly and efficient manner.

Provide administrative support to the Home Manager and Administrator, as and when required.

Process documentation as required on a daily, weekly or monthly basis

Operate office equipment such as photocopier and computer.

Setting up meeting/training facilities

Scheduling appointments


Communication
Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.


Training & Development
Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.

Maintain professional knowledge and competence.


Health & Safety

Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.

Understand and ensure the implementation of Lowmoor Nursing Home's Health and Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures.

Report to the Home Manager, or the Maintenance Team, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.

Promote safe working practice within Newgate Lodge Care Home


General
Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre.

Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.


Notify the Home Manager, or the person in charge, as soon as possible of your inability to work, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.

Ensure the security of Newgate Lodge Care home is maintained at all times.

Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.

Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.

Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.


COVID-19 considerations:
You must have had both COVID-19 Vaccines.
Twice weekly LFT, PPE to be worn when operating through an outbreak.

Full-time working Monday to Friday 9 to 5:30
