    Description

    A UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance is required for this role. If you dont hold SC clearance, we will support you to apply assuming you have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

    As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will:

    Help lead the development of secure cloud environments hosting data and batch / real-time analytical platforms for our clients, leveraging the latest commercial and open-source technologies and techniques. This also involves building automated deployments using configuration management technology, deploying new modules, upgrades and fixes to test and production environments.

    Be responsible for leading the design and implementation of applications' build, release, deployment and configuration activities.

    Be involved in building, managing, and updating a shared Kubernetes platform, as well as creating reusable pipelines for automated testing and deployment.

    Your day to day responsibilities include (but not limited to):

    Writing scripts to deliver/work with our platforms, such as developing docker/terraform/ansible files for a variety of systems/frameworks.

    Providing technical support functions, solving more challenging platform use and configuration issues.

    Providing feedback to project teams on platform use; supporting routine monitoring activities.

    Advising developers on how they should use existing systems and configure CI/CD pipelines.

    Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.

    Working with developers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.

    There may be an occasional requirement to work out of hours to maintain our services 24/7, for which you will be paid.

    What we are looking for:

    People who understand the methodology and fundamentals rather than specific tools. Youll be ideal for this role if you have a demonstrable passion for automation and collaboration, with skills or experience in:

    Over three years of commercial experience deploying and operating infrastructure (network, servers, services) on cloud environments.

    Over two years of experience in provisioning, operations, and management of AWS environments.

    Working knowledge Git / source control

    Over three years of commercial experience deploying and operating infrastructure (network, servers, services) on cloud environments.

    Over two years of experience in provisioning, operations, and management of AWS environments.

    CI/CD pipelines - ideally Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab etc.

    Infrastructure-as-Code technologies, e.g., Terraform and Ansible

    Write/maintain automation script using Bash/Shell or python scripting languages.

    Developing and operating using open source and commercial software within a cloud-centric environment

    Server build and administration, Linux, and Windows

    Working in an agile way following DevOps principles

    Test Driven Development with appropriate tools and frameworks.

    Monitoring, Alerting, Logging. Exposure to methods and tools.

    Knowledge of large-scale databases and distributed technologies, such as RDS

    Commercial experience with using Kafka.

    Experience Required Across the Tech stack below:

    Python based lambda implementation.
