Senior Consultant - Academy Support

Location:
Leeds or Sheffield areas /hybrid. This role will involve regular travel to our Partner Practices and SJP offices

The role of the Senior Consultant - Academy Support is to work alongside the Managers - Academy Development in the delivery of capable, competent, and highly productive new Partners and Advisers to the Partnership, in line with agreed Corporate objectives.

You will be the key point of contact for new Partners and Advisers joining St. James's Place (SJP).

This relationship is a key contributor to the New Joiner experience, specifically to provide support and training on SJP processes and systems, encompassing all Lanes on the Route to Partnership.


What you will be doing:

Providing pre-appointment support along with the Managers
  • Academy Development for new Partners, Advisers and their Partner Support Staff (PSS,) delivering New Joiner objectives, providing appropriate face to face and/or remote support to New Joiners on business processing and submission using IBusiness.
  • Delivering learning content for key systems via a variety of methods such as workshops, webinars and tutorials.
  • Owning and maintaining EndtoEnd Process Guides and input into other projects and initiatives.
  • Supporting the Academy Quality of Documentation objectives, the PSS Induction Programme and PSS forums and Peer Groups.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and informally mentoring less experience colleagues within the team as required.


A broad understanding of the Financial Services sector, Partner business structures and operations, and the SJP structure with particular focus on the Academy.


  • Ability to gather and interpret information from sources such as the Academy Management Teams, Field, and Head Office departments (e.g. Tax and Technical, Client Services, and IT SMEs, Admin Centres SSMs and RA) and to formulate into appropriate and relevant actions for New Joiner Partner and Advisers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver training.
  • Excellent diary and time management skills, able to prioritise own workload and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.

Special Requirements:

The role will involve travel and may also involve out-of-hours work.
