- Provide legal advice for the most complex restoration ever undertaken in the UK
- Play a key role in helping to preserve a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Lead and be responsible for the provision of legal advice and support on all aspects of planning and consents and property.
- Provide a partnering approach to all functions, advising (procuring external legal advice as appropriate) on all legal matters related to planning, consents and property.
- Provide strategic advice in relation to planning, consents and property matters.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisers as required to ensure appropriate, timely and cost-effective external legal support.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Advise on legal risk issues and provide proactive support and guidance on risk mitigation.
- Advise on and input to the internal governance related to planning, consents or property matters.
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and identify impacts for the organisation.
- Devise and provide training and resources on key legal matters in relevant areas of law to inform views on legal and commercial risk.
- Solicitor admitted to practice in England & Wales, with a minimum of 3 years UK employment history.
- Substantial experience and expertise in providing planning and consents law advice in the context of significant and complex projects.
- Ability to work with significant autonomy.
- Highly motivated, proactive and solution focused with demonstrable problem-solving skills.
- An aptitude for negotiating with proven results.
- Possesses excellent, written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor materials for difference audiences.
- Proven experience in establishing effective relationships with colleagues, senior management and key stakeholders with the ability to influence decision making.
- Experience of working effectively both independently, and as part of a team with the confidence to make decisions with minimal need for escalation.
- A flexible attitude with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.

About Our Client
Our client is responsible for the restoration and renewal of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in London. Architects, engineers, project managers, contractors and lawyers will help shape the future direction of the work required, which is the biggest and most complex renovation for a heritage building ever undertaken in the UK.
Job Description
This role will be primarily focused on providing advice in the areas of planning and consents law to the organisation, however there will also be an expectation to manage the provision of legal advice relating to property law cross-functionally. This position requires strong technical acumen, combined with a solution focused and pragmatic outlook, taking into account the unique stakeholder environment and heritage landscape. As such, you will be required to help shape to strategic direction and commercial approach in these areas.
