Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Unit 2 Operator Grade 6.

Full Time Permanent Contract

38 hours per week.

Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:00pM/Friday 7:30am - 1:30pm

As part of the Unit 2 Team you will be working closely with colleagues in duties including, but not limited to, goods in / out, subcon despatch, benching, sub assemblies, Bridgeport operation, c of c sign off, export paperwork creation.

You will also be responsible for the verification of products in accordance with the customer's condition of supply and relevant specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.

A Grade 6 position is signed off to 6 activities which could include

  • Goods In / Out booking in and issuing of material and stock to shopfloor and customer
  • Subcon Despatch issuing of parts to treatment facilities
  • Bench deburring / fettling of machined parts
  • Sub Assembly light assembly work on finished aircraft parts
  • Bridgeport Operation manual machining operations
  • C of C Sign off quality approved stamp and sign off of paperwork
  • Export Paperwork creation commercial invoice and shipment paperwork creation
  • Trainer recognised trainer of any of the above activities

Responding to system generated messages taking the appropriate action where required

3.

Archiving of aviation records in line with company requirements

4.

To carry out Goods In inspections of detailed parts, assemblies and documentation in a timely and efficient manner, using mechanical or electronic measuring equipment (where necessary)

5.


Responsible for verifying components meet specification and customer requirements using detailed drawings, the customer's condition of supply, company procedures and layouts.

6.


Final release of parts to customer including raising and signing certificates of conformity along with raising and completing History Cards where necessary.

7.

Be responsible for signing internal purchase orders for treatment processes.

8.


Reporting all component and documentation non-conformances using the appropriate documentation to Unit 2 Management who will cascade to the relevant departments and escalate through Quality where required.

9.

Complete Production Orders and associated documents in relation to the component being Inspected/Released and maintaining relevant records. Verify that documents have been completed correctly by other employees on SAP and mirrored on the works order card.

Positively support teamwork and circulation of experience within the workforce, including but not limited to the operation and logistic teams.

11.

Work with a minimum amount of supervision and maintain good level of productivity.

12.

To communicate efficiently and effectively with the supervisor and manager at all times ensuring issues relating to deliveries, stock and quality are raised in a timely manner

Maintain good housekeeping in work area

14.

Work in a safe manner complying with all risk assessments and procedures in line with company Health and Safety policy, reporting any Health and Safety incidents that occur

15.

Any other reasonable duties required by management in support of the business


Skills/ Knowledge Requirements:


Academic:

Basic level of education


Professional Accreditations:

N/A


Experience:

Working experience within a stores/warehouse environment

Working knowledge of a SAP or similar operating system preferable

Working knowledge of specifications, SOP's and Work Instructions

Experience in aircraft assembly processes (preferable but not essential)

Experience in fettling/benching (preferable but not essential)
