Brightpoint Community College's mission is to provide quality educational opportunities that inspire student success and community vitality. It envisions a success story for every student.Brightpoint Community College is seeking to fill a nine-month full-time teaching faculty position available for the Fall 2024 semester in funeral services. This is an on-campus position. The selected candidate will teach funeral services courses in hybrid, in-person, and/or online formats. Teaching assignments may include a mix of day and night courses at the Chester campus. Full-time teaching responsibilities include teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester, student advising, supporting application, admissions, and enrollment processes, serving on division and college committees, course evaluation and development and attending and representing Brightpoint Community College at community events and professional meetings and conferences. Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Candidates who do not have a Master's degree must commit to earning a Master's degree in a related field within five years of the date of hire. Must have graduated from an accredited mortuary program and have at least two years of work experience in the funeral services industry. Must be licensed or able to obtain a license in Virginia.The successful candidate must be able to:
