![NHS Grampian background](https://contents.bebee.com/companies/gb/nhs-grampian/background-w8R81.png)
Description
RM183127 – Specialist Health Intelligence Analyst (Maternity Care)
Band 7 (£46,244 - £53,789 pro rata) Per annum
Fixed-Term Contract – Until March 2026
29.6 Hours per week
Health Intelligence Maternity Analyst Summerfield House, 29.6 hours per week, with potential to increase to Full-Time during the term. NHS Grampian and Highland are intelligence-led organisations renowned for leveraging high-quality analytics to inform public health planning, performance, and improvement.
We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking individuals to join our innovative and friendly team, with a specific focus on maternity analytics and reporting. In an era of rapidly advancing technology and increasing data volume and sources, NHS Grampian and Highland recognise the immense potential of harnessing data to drive innovation, improve patient care, and shape the future of healthcare. Our commitment is to build a proficient Health Intelligence team to ensure NHS Grampian and Highland maximise data as a strategic asset. This empowers healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers with actionable insights to transform healthcare delivery, reduce health inequalities, and enhance patient outcomes. Our approach is to use data strategically to help our teams focus on patient-centric and collaborative methodologies, supporting a data-driven ecosystem that fosters innovation.
At the heart of innovation, we must continue to ensure patient privacy and security while delivering evidence-based decision[1]making. As we embrace emerging technologies, we need to maintain a strong focus on data security, privacy, and governance while promoting cross-regional collaboration towards innovation. As public health continues to evolve, healthcare data will remain one of the critical assets of the industry and must be handled with care and transparency to realise its full potential. The post holder will support the development and execution of comprehensive maternity analytics and reporting strategies, focusing on data integration, processing, and analysis to enhance maternity and obstetric care outcomes.
The postholder will contribute to the strategic design and development of new intelligence systems and processes across the health system in Grampian and Highland. In collaboration with partners, the postholder will design and support the implementation of data integration plans to extend coverage of intelligence across the whole health and care system, including secondary maternity and obstetric care, primary care, child health, and local authorities.
The postholder will be highly skilled in maternity analytics, information extraction, and manipulation of large datasets, information interpretation, and data visualisation. The role offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of stakeholders such as public health consultants, acute sector colleagues, local authorities, other health boards in the north region, and national health bodies. The postholder will assess the needs of data and information users and influence maternity analytics strategies. They will develop strong links with teams across the system both regionally and locally, to understand operational needs and provide tailored solutions to meet the information needs of the region in maternity and obstetric care.
Our team has built an outstanding reputation and is in high demand, so the ability to lead under pressure is important. In return, we offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements with opportunities for development and progression. Continuous professional development and research are important to us, and we provide the opportunity to develop academic links with the University of Aberdeen and the Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science.
