    NetBackup Engineer

    Compensation Up to £85k Package includes:

    We're seeking a talented Technical Consultant to join my clients dynamic Technology Services team You will be responsible for the Enterprise Storage & backup platform.

    (SW & HW of backup infrastructure as well as backup components within the client estate across all operating systems (with a focus on NetBackup, Dell EMC Block, SAN, NAS & Backup Products).

    Management and operations of the enterprise Storage & backup platform, to include the software and hardware components of the backup infrastructure as well as backup components within the client estate across all operating systems (with a focus on NetBackup, Dell EMC Block, SAN, NAS & Backup Products)


    Key Responsibilities:
    Administer Storage & Backup platforms (SAN/NAS/Object)
    Perform routine system operation automation
    Handle BAU tasks (service requests, incidents, changes)
    Support regional and local project management
    Contribute to knowledge base management
    Participate in 24x7 on-call rota
    Experience in backup and recovery of virtualised workloads, multiple clients, database agents with demonstrable experience and solution approaches


    Essential Skills:
    Solid experience with Backup products (Netbackup, Data Domain, DDboost)
    Expertise in Data replication (NetApp snapmirror, DataDomain mtree replication, NBU AIR)
    Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Linux Shell)

    Experience and knowledge of SAN, NAS, Object store platforms (VMAX, XIO, Brocade, NetApp, Isilon, ECS) and AWS, Azure Storage & Backup Solutions.

    Experience with Storage Lifecycle Policies, AIR, OST, Cloud, Tape/VTL, Certificates, and OpsCenter.
    Experience with NetBackup domain with GUI and command line utilities for administration, operation, and reporting.
    SAN, NAS, Object store platforms (VMAX, XIO, Brocade, NetApp, Isilon, ECS) and AWS, Azure Storage & Backup Solutions?


    Desirable Skills:
    Knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud support
    Familiarity with code version control (GitHub, Bitbucket)
    Experience with RESTful APIs and infrastructure service abstraction
    Exposure to Storage and Backup management toolsets
    Resource deployment with Terraform in public clouds
