We are thrilled to present a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Maintenance Engineer to become part of the team at a well-established business located in Barnsley.

Role: Permanent Maintenance Engineer, with Electrical Bias

Salary: £33,618.53 plus a shift premium of £3,586.09 for working a 3-shift rotation (Totaling £37,204.62 per year)
Overtime payment at 1.5 rate for Mon-Sat and 2.0 for Sun
Production Bonus (minimum of 15p per hour)
Hours: 39 hours per week on a 3-shift rotation (Mornings, Afternoons, Nights) as follows: Mornings: 6am to 2pm Mon-Thurs, 6am to 1pm Fri; Afternoons: 2pm to 10pm Mon-Thurs, 1pm to 8pm Fri; Nights: 10pm to 6am Mon-Thurs, 8pm to 3am Fri

Mission:

Repair, adjust, and upkeep production equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure reliable functionality and compliance with process specifications while adhering to the highest Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards.

Accountabilities:

Respond promptly to breakdowns and operational issues, conducting planned maintenance activities to minimize disruptions in manufacturing processes
Assess machines for maintenance tasks and identify breakdowns and electrical faults
Create a safe working environment
Communicate with machine operators to gather information on deviations
Determine the need for isolation
Inform production supervisors about the expected work duration when possible
Conduct necessary repairs on machinery
Instruct machine operators to test equipment post maintenance
Maintain tools and repair equipment for optimal functionality

Keep detailed maintenance records to ensure Health and Safety compliance and identify recurring issues with machinery, equipment, or components

Fill out work order documents with relevant maintenance information
Complete safety procedures and issue permits for isolation when necessary
Authorize permits for power restoration
Coordinate with machine operators to sign off completed work orders
Document all maintenance activities in the designated system
Conduct audits on maintenance equipment as required
Provide feedback to relevant parties on suggested machinery improvements, operator skills, or any pertinent information

Requirements:

Electrical bias is essential; experience in resolving electrical issues on machinery in a manufacturing setting is required
Previous exposure to Heavy Industry is advantageous
Familiarity with Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, Electrical systems, and PLC's
Minimum of Level 3 NVQ in Electrical
