    Group Leader 10+ at May Camp in Norwich, Norfolk

    Group Leader 10+ role available nationwide!

     

     

    Work Hours: 08:30 – 17:30

    Salary Range: £547.27 – £628.71 per week, dependent on age, experience, and qualifications (2023 wage level for February Half Term contracts. 2024 wage level effective from April 1st.)

    Reporting to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office. Barracudas prioritizes the safety and well-being of children and young people, expecting all team members to share this commitment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AS A GROUP LEADER 10+

    • Help set up and maintain an appealing base room for the children, ensuring tidiness and proper equipment storage
    • Follow policies to create a fun and secure environment for the children
    • Adhere to the daily activity timetable for a diverse range of activities
    • Plan and lead engaging activities with structure and excitement
    • Provide active supervision and attention to children throughout the day, including breaks
    • Utilize available resources to plan age-appropriate activities based on children's interests
    • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver sessions
    • Ensure the children's well-being and safety
    • Promote maximum participation from the children
    • Ensure safe equipment use during sessions

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience or qualifications working with secondary school-aged children
    • Minimum age of 18 at the contract start date
    • Eligibility to work in the UK
    • Positive, organized, and caring with excellent communication skills
    • Ability to adapt to challenges in a childcare setting
    • Enhanced DBS check required
    • Participation in Virtual Assessment Event for new Barracudas team members
    • Completion of Online Training annually
    • Experience in managing challenging behaviors or willingness to learn
    • Attendance at the Induction Training Day before the first working season
    • Assist with camp pack-up

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations
    • Organize appropriate activities for children based on qualifications and skills
    • Encourage participation in activities per the timetable
    • Monitor children's behavior and whereabouts
    • Follow registration and safety procedures
    • Role model healthy habits and prioritize children's welfare
    • Report Child Protection concerns to the Management Team
    • Accommodate children with additional needs or medical conditions
    • Promote inclusivity and open discussions within the group
    • Assist in Skills Builder sessions when required
    • Support swimming sessions if needed
    • Be flexible in role tasks based on organization's objectives
