We are looking to recruit a part time Band 6 Physiotherapist on a permanent basis for our Team at Castle Douglas Hospital. Castle Douglas hospital is an 18 bedded hospital that provides slow stream rehabilitation. The Physiotherapy team provide not only inpatient Rehabilitation but also community rehabilitation in the Physiotherapy department or in people's own homes
You would be working within a well-established and welcoming service. This service includes not only Physiotherapy but also the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Due to the ever changing health and social care climate, this post holder may be required in the future to work flexibly within the context of working regular weekends, to provide a 6 or 7 day per week service. There is also a requirement to regularly travel to different workplaces. This will be discussed further at interview.
Under Equality Legislation we can only state that a driving licence is required if a post is a 'driving job - eg Driver.
Following discussions, we can now routinely use the following text in adverts where a post holder would be expected to drive.
This post may involve clinic and home visits in remote and rural areas therefore a current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
Recruitment have also set up an assessment question option (wording below) which managers can request be added to the Jobtrain application form for candidates to answer when completing their application. This would ensure that the advert wording hadn't been missed by a candidate and provide shortlisters with the information they need to consider an application.
