We are recruiting for a top of their industry, award-winning company based near the Maylands Industrial Estate in Hemel Hempstead, looking to recruit a Transport Planning Coordinator on a permanent basis.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous Transport, Logistics, Planning, or Import/Export experience to join a forward-thinking, award-winning organisation that provide a service and work with products that most people across the world willuse and recognise.


The purpose of this role is to provide transport planning to the business by performing a number of activities to support the processes and services they offer, liaising with both internal and external clients and ensure that the logistics process is followedthrough from collection to invoicing, performed to a top-class standard.


This role is on a permanent basis, working a 50/50 hybrid pattern, 7am to 5pm or 9am to 7pm and will be on 4 days on and 4 days off shift pattern, so the days worked will vary weekly as part of this and does include weekends.

Free parking is on site, due to location you MUST own and be able to drive to work.


Main Duties:


  • Review outstanding orders on the transport management system.
  • Plan daily vehicle movements, consolidating orders where possible to increase vehicle fill and reduce empty mileage.
  • Ensure that all vehicle movements are planned to use the most costeffective routes to optimize costs.
  • Organise Hauliers/Transport to meet these schedules.
  • Arrange collection/delivery times & obtain booking references as required.
  • Ensure all details are entered into the transport management system.
  • Produce, complete, and distribute daily schedule.
  • Produce and complete delivery schedule.
  • Efficiently manage Helpdesk calls in a timely manner to ensure minimum escalations.
  • Manage daily issues and escalate if appropriate.
  • Assist the team with other duties where necessary and any additional tasks allocated by the Operations Team Leader.
  • Ensure that all jobs have the right customer code assigned, all jobs are rated, all delays and exceptions are recorded in TMS.
  • Provide quality operational data & KPI's
  • Support the Operations Team in with other relevant duties when required.
  • Any Logistics/Transport/Planning/Import & Export experience would be hugely advantageous
  • Able to work independently and confident to make decisions if required
  • Able to work in a paced environment and able to handle stress situation based on the nature of our business (peak seasons, etc.)
  • Quick learner to understand company Transport Management System and processes
  • Good communication skills and manners as being in touch with customers and hauliers
  • MS Office knowledge (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, O365 etc.)
