    Job summary

    United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) are seeking a highly motivated Senior Estates Manager who will be based in the Estates Department. The post holder will be required to play a proactive part within the Estates Management Team to meet Trust objectives in a safe, cost effective, efficient manner in compliance with legislation and good practice.

    Main duties of the job

    Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational management of the Estates and the monitoring and reporting of professional quality and performance.
  • Responsible for the provision of an overall Estates maintenance function.
  • Provide specialist and professional advice to senior managers and directors on the management of the estate.
  • Taking on leadership roles in specific Authorised/Responsible Person requirements.
  • To advise Senior Management/Directors on issues on non-compliance.
  • To arrange, negotiate and manage maintenance contracts for equipment and services with specialist contractors.
  • Manage the process of maintaining service records.
  • To ensure all building and engineering activities are completed to a professional standard and in line with NHS requirements, Trust Policies and directives.
  • Continually assess and analyse risks associated with buildings, engineering services and activities, to ensure that robust contingency plans exist for significant risks
  • Develop and produce technical reports where required and in a timely manner for Senior Management Team.

    Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • oEducated to Masters level in Estates Management or related subject; or equivalent in-depth experience.
  • oDegree level qualification in an engineering discipline, or equivalent level of experience
  • oHND level qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
  • oManagement qualification or demonstrable experience to an appropriate level of the role expectations
  • Desirable

  • oIOSH/NEEBOSH H&S Qualification
  • oServed full Apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
  • Professional membership with an engineering or Management Scheme
  • Previous Experience

    Essential

  • oExperience of Management at an applicable level comparable to the Job Description
  • oExperience of Budget Management
  • oExperience in the management and development of specialist contracts
  • oAble to demonstrate the acquisition of professional knowledge in Engineering Services through experience
  • oEvidence of working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • oKnowledge of Statutory regulations applicable to the Job Description and Engineering practices.
  • Desirable

  • oExperience of business planning or project management
  • oExperience of leading people through change
  • oPrevious experience working in a senior management position within the NHS and more specifically Engineering services
