    Senior Director Product Development - Glasgow, United Kingdom - Hartmann Young

    Job Description:

    Hartmann Young are currently partnering with a leading Global CDMO company to recruit for an experienced Drug Development Director to manage, lead and direct growth of the companies Product development business through leadership of the Pharmaceutics Development functions.

    The ideal candidate will be site based in Hertfordshire, however the company will consider home based candidates in the South of UK that are happy to travel to site / clients on an ad hoc basis.

    Roles & Responsibilities Include:

    1. Provide scientific and organisational leadership of the Pharmaceutics functions, comprising Pre-formulation, Formulation Development, Scientific Project Leads, GMP Manufacturing and technical support teams, within Product Development.
    2. Drive talent acquisition and talent development processes to ensure high calibre staff are recruited, trained and developed in their roles within Pharmaceutics functions.
    3. Leverage the performance review system to elevate performance and engagement such that collectively and individually, potential is fully realised.
    4. Deliver Client projects to client timeline and budget expectations.
    5. Plan and prioritise team workload to ensure all milestones are delivered on time, right the first time and to client satisfaction.
    6. Collaborate with Project Management and other stakeholder functions to align priorities and project timelines.
    7. Communicate progress regularly and effectively, addressing any queries and managing any escalations.
    8. Manage Department resources and budget to company financial expectations and performance targets.
    9. Report performance to KPIs to Senior Management as required.
    10. Host client visits and participate in quality audits as required.
    11. Build Product Development technical capability and expertise through timely delivery of Capex investment initiatives, justification of investments in new relevant technologies and through proactive development of scientific resources within Product Development.

    Additional Position Requirements:

    The above work will be conducted work within established key workflows and / or regulations pertinent to the individual's specific workgroup, as described by SOPs, corporate policies and external regulatory guidance (e.g. GxP, ICH, etc).

    The job holder is required to complete all technical, procedural and policy-based training outlined in department SOPs and in department on-boarding materials prior to active participation in related work on active programs.

    Encourage continuous improvement through an effective Quality Management System (QMS) striving to improve processes and practices.

    Promote and contribute to a best in class Quality culture and reputation based on collaboration.

    The successful candidate must have a Degree in relevant scientific discipline and a higher degree PhD in Pharmaceutical Science or relevant scientific discipline.

    Evidence of strong academic / industrial experience and achievement with at least 10 years in applicable role.

    Evidence of successful application of technical skill sets to resolve high complexity formulation challenges.

    Business Partnerships and Relationship Development by expert application of drug product design and development.

    Evidence of ability to effectively lead staff.

    Drug product development knowledge.

    Sound knowledge of regulatory and CGMP requirements.

    Highly commercially orientated, able to demonstrate how delivery excellence can create competitive advantage to deliver and sustain business growth.
