Graduate Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer We are recruiting for a Graduate Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer with 0-2 years of experience, to be based within our growing team in Bristol.
This is a great opportunity to work within a small but rapidly growing business.The role will include advising clients and developing design proposals to support planning applications, then progressing these through the approvals process up to detailed design stage.
This is an office-based role where you will be sat alongside and mentored by senior staff so no prior experience necessary but an ability to resolve problems based on sound engineering principles is essential.
A prior background or qualification in civil/environment engineering or environmental science would be ideal. This role requires strong communication skills as well as the normal engineering requirements of numeracy and lateral thinking.Desirable skills/Requirements:
Prepare Flood Risk Assessments
Assist with development of drainage strategies utilising Microdrainage or Flow modelling software.
Prepare and submit S104, S185 and S106 etc. applications for technical approval with the relevant authorities.
Design SuDS and prepare management/maintenance plans.
Incorporate water quality and amenity features into SuDS, where possible
Land Drainage Consent applications for works to existing watercourses.
Catchment assessment and flow estimation
Undertake foul drainage assessments and specify non-mains drainage solutions.
Tender & commission infiltration testing, CCTV surveys and detailed hydraulic modelling
Undertake occasional site visits and meet with clients.
Liaising with LLFAs, the EA and water authorities
Qualifications:
BEng/MEng Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
