We are looking for dynamic, highly motivated Nursing Associates to work in Theatre on any of our four sites: Good Hope Hospital, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Solihull Hospital.

We cover many specialities including Obs & Gynae, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Interventional Radiology, Thoracic, Cardiac, Liver, Neuro, Plastics, Burns, Hands, General, Urology, Renal, Maxillofacial, ENT, Vascular, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Day case surgery and Emergency.

This could be working weekend's only, condensed hours or maybe it's just keeping your interest by offering one shift a week.

Main duties, tasks & skills required:

We have full/part time jobs for Band 4 Registered Nursing Associates with any amount of experience but at UHB we also do things a little differently.

All we ask for is that you provide the very best care to our patients and work with our teams to ensure patient quality and safe care is delivered

Qualifications:


Essential:

Maths and English Level 2

Qualification ( Equivalent to GCSE

Grade C or above )

  • Care certificate completion or
evidence of training related to health

care support worker role

  • Foundation Degree or Level 5 Diploma
in Health and Social Care undertaken

whilst training to be an Assistant

Practitioner


Experience:


Essential:

Previously employed in a theatre

environment in a complex health care

environment undertaking the role of a

trainee nursing associate

  • Can evidence a range of clinical
competencies achieved during

training related to the speciality /

practice setting

  • Ability to work effectively as a team
player under appropriate supervision,

and as part of a multi-disciplinary

team

  • Insight into how to evaluate own
strengths & development needs,

seeking advice where appropriate

  • Ability to take part in reflective
practice and clinical supervision

activities

  • Ability to deal with nonroutine and
unpredictable nature of the workload

and individual patient contact

  • Understanding of the scope of the
role of the Theatre Nursing Associate

in context of the team and the

organisation, and how the role may

  • Understanding of evidence based practice
  • Evidence of involvement in support /
development of less experienced staff
