    Description
    Mental Health or Learning disability registered nurse NMC -inpatient mental health recovery services.


    Maple Lodge is a purpose built 15 bed rehabilitation unit within the Boston area for people with enduring mental health problems and complex needs.

    We Understand that mental health can impact on the whole person and are passionate and committed to that person centred approach to enable people we serve within our communities to move forward with positive mental health beyond their hospital admission.


    We support people recover to their optimum following a period of mental ill health, we support individuals to improve their quality of life.

    We work with people to manage their long-term mental health conditions to enable them to live well in their communities.


    You will have the opportunity to participate and maintain high quality care within the ward environment to work alongside service users to aid in their recovery and transition back to independence.


    We provide intervention for both men and women with severe and enduring mental ill-health in an open environment within the community to support their ongoing recovery and social integration/ inclusion needs.

    There are training opportunities available to support growth in the role. You will be expected to work shifts including weekends, nights and bank holidays over a 7 day period

    To be part of an integrated health/social care team providing inpatient care for service users suffering from serious and enduring mental illness.

    Offering nursing interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting mental health well being, self autonomy and independence.


    The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care, in liaison with the care team in the capacity of a mental health nurse.

    Perform nursing assessments of a clients personal needs using relevant skills and assessment tools.
    Implement a range of clinical skills in the assessment client risk.
    Construct client care plans and risk management plans based on their assessed needs.
    Perform nursing interventions advocated within the clients care plan.
    Recognise the contribution of others in the provision of client care.

    Involve clients and/or carers in the care panning and care delivery in a compassionate and appropriate manner which considers their diverse needs.

    Maintain the welfare and safety of clients and protect them from any form of abuse in accordance with safeguarding guidance.

    Monitor the impact and effectiveness of nursing care delivered and revise care plans as appropriate.
    Make and maintain accurate records of nursing care in accordance with Professional (NMC) guidance and Trust policy.
    Identify nursing skills which are transferable between client groups.

    LeadershipDemonstrate an ability to lead, support and develop junior staff.
    Contribute to innovation and new ways of workingTake part and implement local audit and research activities were appropriate.
    Implement risk management strategies to ensure the provision of high quality care to all clients.

    Be able to evaluate own nursing practice in line with current evidence/value based practice.
    Use a variety of feedback mechanisms to improve own nursing care.

    Education, Training and Personal DevelopmentIdentify personal educational needs which consolidate own learning from point of registration.
    Apply the principles of reflective practice to enhance performance and contribute to ongoing learning.
    Produce a personal development plan which strengthens their competence to deliver safe nursing practice reflecting current job requirements.
    Complete mentor training in accordance with the assessment and learning in practice standard(NMC) and fulfil the appropriate responsibilities to support learners in practice
    RMN or RNLD 1st Level Registration (NMC) or degree or equivalent
    Evidence of specialised continued professional training in clinical practice.

    Relevant experience of working with mental health needs
    Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health

    Previous experience working as a registered mental health nurse with people with mental health problems.
    Personal experience in the delivery of physical care to others
