Health and Safety Advisor

Creating a positive health and safety culture across the company through effective stakeholder management is key to the success of this role.


Purpose

  • To provide effective solutions for all health and safety challenges identified throughout the CEG portfolio
  • Undertake 1:1 liaison as part of the annual risk assessment reviews across all investment sites
  • Identify opportunities for both improvement and standardisation within a health and safety remit
  • Provide on location H&S support to the CEG team across the UK

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake annual reviews of location health and safety general risk assessments
  • Provide support to resolve and eliminate any hazards identified during the operating year as well as during the risk assessment review(s)
  • Conduct annual fire risk assessments at the operational buildings
  • Conduct location audits to produce a gap analysis that supports the continual improvement at each respective location
  • Identify innovative ways to improve on health and safety delivery and design and conduct projects to deliver on these opportunities
  • Conduct staff/partners health and safety training and induction training
  • Supporting site teams with accident/incident investigation inclusive employment of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools
  • Working with our suppliers to provide a wider reaching positive health and safety culture
  • Provide health and safety advise across the three divisions (Development, Investment and Strategic Land)
  • Conduct development site visits to increase client presence

Key Skills Required

  • Good IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate well, orally and written.
  • Workflow management i.e. effective organisational and time management skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Must be able to travel, this role is hybrid so you can work from home when not visiting sites as agreed with your line manager.

Requirements:


  • Level 3 health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH General or construction certificate or above
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments for office and development locations
  • Fire risk assessor or willing to attend appropriate FRA training
  • A willingness to learn and grow
  • Previous experience of accident investigation (preferred)
  • Experience in providing practical and solution focussed health and safety advice
  • A specialist area/experience such as Asbestos, CDM or fire
  • Graduate membership of IOSH or equivalent professional membership
