    £65,000 - £80,000 per annum

    The Role:

    Are you passionate about Java development and team leadership? We have an exciting opportunity for you to be at the forefront of a major transformation project. As a Java Development Team Leader, you'll be instrumental in leading a team of talented junior Java Developers, inspiring them to create ground-breaking solutions within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. As you will be working as part of a large digital transformation there is a requirement to be onsite each day, with the view to possible hybrid working in the future - TBC.

    Your Responsibilities:

    Application Development:

    • Design and build Microservices-based applications with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
    • Foster collaboration with agile engineering teams, both internally and externally, to ensure seamless project delivery.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices and providing guidance to your team.

    Leadership and Team Management:

    • Mentor and coach a small squad of junior Java Developers, nurturing their growth and development.
    • Take ownership of team deliverables while effectively managing your own tasks.

    Integration and Collaboration:

    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional technology and product teams to ensure smooth integration of new capabilities into existing platforms.

    About you:

    • At least 5 years of Java development experience.
    • Proficiency in various technologies and frameworks, including Java, Spring Boot, and MongoDB, with familiarity in cloud platforms.
    • Knowledgeable in modern software development practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps.
    • A natural leader with a passion for mentoring and guiding junior team members.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
    • Experience of leading a small squad of junior team members.
