    Description

    In our 12 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia) of operation, we are working on the production and distribution of low-carbon electricity, through the development of nuclear and renewable energies. We are also supporting the modernization and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonize the transport and industry sectors.

    Assystem holds a strong position in the market, particularly in France and the United Kingdom for nuclear energy.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    As our business continues to grow, we have a strategic requirement to hire an Engineering Manager – New Build Conventional Island.

    The Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role for the formation, leadership and management of the engineering teams that will undertake Front End Engineering Delivery for NNB major programmes .

    Key Responsibilities to include

    • Leadership of the engineering activities
    • Approvals for Safety and Functional Requirements
    • Leadership and demonstration of Design Packages in line with requirements
    • Model Based System Engineering oversight and sign off
    • Preparation and sign off of Technical Specifications
    • Programme monitoring and reporting
    • Management of Risk and Opportunity
    • Team development and management
    • SQEPing of resources
    • Coaching and identifying training needs

    Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

    • 10 to 15 years at least of experience in similar roles with specific emphasis on FEED through to detailed design.
    • in leading and integration of multi-disciplinary design teams
    • to define power station thermal cycle modelling outcomes and oversee work undertaken.
    • to define budgets/work programs for complete design project lifecycles e.g. requirements capture, concept design and detailed design.
    • ability in Front End Engineering solutions associated with New Build conventional Island
    • understanding of relevant Regulations, ONR, Environment Agency and HSE
    • of Requirements Capture/Elicitation/management
    • Based System Engineering practitioner
    • in managing sub-contracts and sub-contractors
    • Clearance or capable of achieving it
