    Description

    Department/Location: Department of Engineering, Central Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK

    A position exists, for a Research Assistant in Behavioural and Computational Neuroscience in the Department of Engineering, to work on projects in the field of statistical learning, decision making, neuroimaging. The postdoc will be supervised by Dr Flavia Mancini and join the dynamic and multidisciplinary research environment of the Computational and Biological Learning group )

    The post will be in Central Cambridge, UK.

    The key responsibilities/duties:

    • Ideating, designing and conducting neuroimaging/behavioural studies on using behavioural, computational and neuroimaging research methods in humans
    • Analysing neural, neuroimaging or behavioural data
    • Dissemination of research findings

    Maintaining and developing methodological/ technical skills to expand their scientific potential. The post-holder is expected to grow and develop in methodological skills and theoretical understanding during this post.

    The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role:

    • Applicants must have (or be close to obtaining) a Master degree (at least 2:1) in a relevant subject area to neuroscience, physics, mathematics, biology, psychology or a related neuroscience field.
    • Knowledge of statistics, behavioural, systems, cognitive and/or computational neuroscience
    • Specialist skills in neuroimaging methods, from data collection to analysis (especially fMRI).
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience in conducting and analysing behavioural and/or neuroimaging experiments on human participants
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent organizational skills

    Salary Range: £29,605 - £33,966

    Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 May 2025 in the first instance.
