- Be the interface with the engineering team for cost effective introduction of new products.
- Support Production with the investigation of complex production problems, analysis, and recommend corrective solutions or improvements to ensure proper production flow.
- Participate in the design of workplace and cell layouts to promote efficient overhaul and manufacturing process flow.
- Identify build sequence and develop product structure for assigned overhaul, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
- Read, interpret, and evaluate drawings, models, and designs for assembly and manufacture.
- Design tools, fixtures, test rigs, and jigs.
- Lead improvement projects and give presentations to managers and staff.
- Maintain, develop, and update Work Instructions in line with newest practices and improvements.
- Maintain correct revisions of all documentation.
- HNC engineering qualification required or equivalent.
- Good understanding of mathematics, Lean principles, and tools, Six Sigma.
- CAD Qualification is desirable.

Who will you be working with?
We are seeking an experienced Methods Engineer to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent we support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.
Role: Methods Engineer
Salary: £Competitive
Location: Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, (DE13 8EN)
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm, 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
The key aim of the role is to optimise the assembly and manufacturing process by studying product and manufacturing methods, designing, and delivering robust process flows and work instructions. Support manufacturing program and continuous improvement disciplines in providing cost effective manufacturing processes for new and existing programs.
