Description of the role and key responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of n ambitious, diverse and dynamic sales team who are responsible for acquiring and developing newto-bank clients for our Corporate Treasury business.

Primarily focused on identifying and converting clients seeking treasury solutions; you will also be responsible for introducing clients to other areas of the wider bank.

Along with our product specialists, you will be responsible for managing these client relationships to ensure they receive a superb Investec treasury experience and become loyal clients in the process.

We are looking for proven sales experience, a proactive and energetic personality and the enthusiasm to develop meaningful client relationships.

In this role you will be responsible for acquiring and developing new client relationships through delivering a world class sales experience:
Hunger and persistence to convert new client opportunities
Empathy and diligence to embed these relationships, and
Proactivity and passion to develop these client relationships within the team and across the wider bank
Character and hunger is really important for this role. We are looking for someone with sales acumen, who is hard-working, proactive, energetic,gregarious and passionate.

Purpose

The purpose of the role is to acquire new corporate customers (within a defined target market) to use the treasury products and services offered by Investec Bank plc.

These products include foreign exchange, money markets, and interest rates.

This is achieved by generating leads and meeting the key decision maker, and signing up the company through the articulation of the Investec Treasury Risk Solutions value proposition.

This attainment of new business is set in line with a team target for both money markets and foreign exchange and each team will have a Team Leader at the helm.


Key Responsibilities:

Acquire New Business to meet set targets for FX & MM:

Generate own leads through campaigns, events, networking and other creative approaches and convert to a client; visit generated leads with the intention of acquiring their business.

All clients should be visited before they are on-boarded.
Tailor conversation and value proposition to the company's relevant industry, business contact and decision maker.

Ensure new business is only acquired within a defined territory and through clients that add to the quality of the book and not merely the quantity.

Business networking and relationship building
Understand the Investec value proposition and handle objections.

Each salesperson will be responsible for contributing to an overall team target but the individual's target will be fully identifiable and expectations of the team target will be based around the cumulative individual targets.


Assist with the account set up:
Ensure the account has a suitable trading and credit limit (for both the client and the Bank).
Ensure the client's expectations are managed throughout this process. Ensure all relevant information is input into the CRM system to date.
Ensure correct MI and analysis of performance.
Ensure all "know your client" (KYC) information is correct and up to date.
Handhold the client until they are comfortable and ensure that the client is happy with dealing with Investec.
Maintain client relationship for their first year of trading:

In the first year, the principle account relationship will migrate over time from the sales person to the Dealer and Account Manager.

It is important that the salesperson maintains a strong and fluid relationship with the client and Dealer.
Assist in the handover of the relationship after the year. Maintain dialogue with management and correctly utilise CRM at all times.
Deliver weekly pipeline report to their Team Leader
Attend weekly Sales Team meeting
Attend monthly 1 to 1 meeting with their Team Leader
Attend quarterly 1 to 1 meeting with the Sales Manager
Attend 1 client meeting a month with their Team Leader
Attend 1 client meeting a quarter with the Sales Manager

Demonstrate a genuine team player mentality:
Assist other team members on meetings where required.
Build strong internal relationships with dealers, credit officers, complian
