    Description

    An opportunity has arisen for a Respiratory Physiologist to work as a member of the Respiratory Physiology Team at Northampton General Hospital.

    You will be on the ARTP spirometry register and have experience of delivering routine respiratory function testing. It would be an advantage if you have knowledge of more advanced respiratory tests, but training will be given.
    To work as a member of the Respiratory Physiology Team. Provide education to medical students, junior doctors and nurse specialists in performing and interpreting basic lung function.

    Work with the Respiratory Function Laboratory administrator to ensure the administrativeaspects of the service are covered at all times.

    Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times in line with current policies.
    Calibrate, maintain and clean equipment (adhering to infection control policy).
    Maintain own continuing professional development.

    Produce technically satisfactory results in accordance with local health and safety policy.

    Work with the Lung Function Laboratory administrator to ensure the administrative aspects of the service are covered at all times including.

    Be fully conversant with departmental computer systems after initial training.
    Maintain own continuing professional development.
    Proficient in MS Word and Excel
    Educations, Training and Qualifications
    Educated to GCSE level or equivalent level of education, in English, Maths and at least one Science
    Educated to A level or equivalent level of education in at least one Science subject
    Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure a high quality service
