    Permanent Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist - Hull, East Yorkshire, United Kingdom - Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust

    We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and innovative Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the Adult Community Learning Disabilities Team based in Hull.


    You will receive regular individual supervision, CPD, training and support within the role to help transfer your skills and develop competencies in this specialist field.

    Ideally, you will have experience of working within a community learning disabilities team as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team but we welcome applications from all candidates.


    The post holder will provide assessments and individual interventions for service users with a learning disability and often complex needs, using evidence based/client centred principles.

    Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services. Contribute to the development and maintenance of Occupational Therapy within the Trust. Ensure OT provision is delivered in accordance with HCPC and Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) requirements.

    Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent, approved by the HCPC.
    Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation and guidance relevant to clinical and service area
    Evidence of undertaking audits/surveys
    Demonstrate clinical experience in mental health and/or physical health.

    Adhere to professional standards for Occupational Therapy Practice, as detailed by the HCPC and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), legal and professional responsibilities.


    Member of specialist interest group/network, locally or regionally
    Knowledge/experience and/or post graduate qualification in Sensory Integration Knowledge/experience of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) techniques Completed up to date AMPS training
    Completed up to date AMPS training
    Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care
    Experience of multi-agency/professional working
    Analysis of Occupational performance/participation, with health and medical aspects. (Biopsychosocial and environmental factors (Physical, sensory/communication/interaction, cognitive/executive function, neuro- diversity and mental health)
    Confident with assessing activity analysis/job demand analysis (JDA) physical/cognitive/psychological aspects of a role.
    return to work plans, including use of the Allied Health Professional (AHP) Health and Work Report where applicable.

    Post graduate training/experience in condition or rehabilitation management, such as pain, fatigue, stress/anxiety management, neuro-rehabilitation and/or other long term conditions and musculo-skeletal issues including upper limb conditions.

    Member of Specialist Section Work as part of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT).

    Ability to demonstrate ethical values and attitudes within a culture of equality and diversity
