    Job summary

    Are you an existing Band 7 Advanced Occupational Therapist (OT), a Band 6 looking for a development opportunity or returning to practice looking for a new and exciting opportunity then this is the role for you

    A flexible working pattern and bespoke relocation and development package is available to support the succession of the application. Applicants must have a sound knowledge of OT and leadership, experience in a forensic setting would be advantageous, but not essential.

    The post holder must be able to work autonomously, providing clinical input and consultation as part of the wider MDT. Advanced working knowledge and clinical expertise of OT Professional Practice models such as the Model of Human Occupation is essential. The provision offers sensory interventions and the environment has access to sensory focused areas, experience in this area would be advantageous however further training would be supported to complete the PG Cert. in Sensory Integration.

    The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be part of the Humber wider OT network and includes access to professional and clinical supervision. Training and professional development is a priority of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust therefore the OTs in the forensic division are integral to the wider Mental Health CPD Groups. The Trust and wider OT service is committed to support undergraduate, postgraduate/ apprentice student education.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will lead across the OT provision within the medium and low secure forensic environment.

    Hold a clinical caseload, provide advanced clinical experience, knowledge and expertise to support assessments, interventions to support evidence- based practice and patient centred care

    Provide clinical expertise and consultation across the service to promote the role of OT, leading on OT initiatives and improvements, as well as support senior management in delivering of the wider service improvements.

    Qualifications and Knowledge

    Essential

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and further professional knowledge at masters equivalent level
  • Registration with the HCPC
  • Desirable

  • Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level degree or post graduate level or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning
  • Experience

  • Advanced knowledge/experience of working in the relevant service area
  • Understanding of complex caseload management and clinical responsibilities within service area

  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area
